Happy Easter!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whilst we cannot be out on the water, your Committees have still been thinking sailing.\u00a0 We have found some great resources that might be of interest and for aufblasbare spiele<\/a> those with a competitive spirit, an Easter themed Competition and some Virtual Racing.<\/p>\n

So, to the activities:<\/p>\n

Recycled \u2018Egg Sailor\u2019 Boat Competition<\/strong> \u2013 Build a small boat out of any scrap materials for example plastic bottles, cardboard, drinks cans that can support a painted egg sailor (sailor to be a hen\u2019s egg). You can be as creative as you like.\u00a0\u00a0 Your videos or photos of your boat and sailor \u2018floating\u2019 will need to be submitted by 5pm on Easter Monday to any of the St Catherine\u2019s Sailing Club WhatsApp groups or via our Facebook page – St Catherine\u2019s Sailing Club, for judging by our Commodore Dave Jones.<\/p>\n

Virtual Regatta <\/strong>\u2013 In the absence of our usual on the water activities, Dave (Pseudonym \u2018St Cath\u2019s DJ\u2019) \u00a0is all set to run three races back to back as a Virtual Regatta event on Monday 13th<\/sup> April starting at 10am.\u00a0 Racing will take place in 49er\u2019s in the Portsmouth bay area.\u00a0 If you would like to join in with this racing, register for free on the Inshore area https:\/\/www.virtualregatta.com\/en\/inshore-game\/<\/a> Please then register your intention to race by sending your name and \u2018Pseudonym\u2019 to Dave at drjonesjersey@gmail.com There are only 20 places so first come, first served. \u00a0Get practising!<\/p>\n

Art<\/strong> \u2013 One of our members has been posting on Facebook free drawings to download and colour in, they are so intricate and beautiful, and of course, sea themed.\u00a0 Have a look on Katherine Cadin Art.<\/p>\n

The RYA has started the project #SailFromHome<\/strong> on YouTube and these sessions \u00a0are available on the British Sailing Team YouTube Channel or via Facebook.\u00a0 There are some really great sessions covering strategy, interviews with Olympic Squad sailors, workouts and boat maintenance.<\/p>\n

Hiking Bench<\/strong> – Perhaps you may have enough bits at home to make your own hiking bench so that you will be extra quick up wind, there are plenty of simple designs on the internet.<\/p>\n

Have fun with your families and stay safe.<\/p>\n
