Annual Regatta Success<\/span><\/h1>\n

Challenging Conditions<\/h3>\n

It was a fanstastic annual\u00a0regatta last\u00a0weekend. Congratulations to all those that competed, we experienced quite challenging gusty conditions\u00a0making for some exciting sailing and a range of\u00a0spectacular\u00a0capsizes (you know\u00a0who you are!)<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Sailing and House committees both\u00a0worked extremely hard to ensure things ran smoothly, with much support from other club members which was really appreciated. On Sunday we were also pleased\u00a0to welcome into the club those that attended the St Martin’s Church Sea Sunday Service, it was all quite busy for a while.\u00a0Martin Speller retained the prestigous Aurum Trophy as overall winner of the Regatta, Tom Pollard had a superb weekend finishing as top junior and second\u00a0overall. It was also really pleasing\u00a0to see our\u00a0youngest sailors gaining some race experience as they competed for the Trophy de Paris, well done to Jack Horton who was the winner. Logicalis Gorey Regatta<\/span><\/h1>\n

Fantastic Sailing Sat 26th – Sun 27th Jul<\/h3>\n

The Logicalis Gorey Regatta is fast approaching so a reminder\u00a0to get your entry form in soon which is available from at\u00a0http:\/\/www.goreyregatta.org\/<\/a>\u00a0along with full details of this Regatta which was first established in 1857 and is one of the oldest in the world.\u00a0It’s always a fantastic\u00a0weekend of sailing and the time when\u00a0Gorey beach becomes a home from home for St Catherines sailors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Level 1 Power Boat Training<\/span><\/h1>\n

One space remaining 5th August<\/h3>\n

The training centre has\u00a0one more space on the next\u00a0level 1 powerboat course\u00a0<\/span>which will be held on Wednesday 5th August. The one-day course is aimed at children aged 12 and 13. \u00a0It is an introduction to boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment. \u00a0Please email tonycaveytraining@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0for further details about this and our other courses.<\/p>\n

Annual CI Masters Competition<\/span><\/h1>\n

Guernsey YC weekend of\u00a011th – 13th Sept<\/h3>\n

The competition will follow similar lines to previous events, the NOR is here\u00a0Masters 2015 NOR Entry Form Draft V1<\/a>
\nThis has been a really enjoyable event for a number of years, with friendly inter-Island racing\u00a0\u00a0with fellow masters, there is always excellent hospitality too at GYC.<\/p>\n

Tickets can be printed at home, delivered by post, or collected at the Show. Because tickets ordered via postal delivery could take up to 7 days to arrive, those purchased at short notice can be collected on arrival from the advance ticket box office at the main entrance. The most expedient option, for those ordering tickets over the Internet, is to use the website\u2019s ‘Print at Home’ facility.<\/p>\n

When booking you will be asked to select the day you expect to visit. This is merely to help the organiser predict visitor numbers for logistical purposes. The tickets you receive will be valid for ANY single day including Preview Day.<\/p>\n
