It was with sadness that I learned last weekend that John Speller (aged 83) passed away. John was an Honorary member of St Catherine\u2019s Sailing Club and a real stalwart for many years, contributing his energy and enthusiasm. He held the position of Sailing Secretary and was also Commodore from 1981 to 1982. During the 1980\u2019s when the club was extended by bouncy castle for sale<\/a> members, it was John who was instrumental in achieving this. John was also one of those industrious dads that built his own mirror dinghy, which then encouraged his sons to get into sailing too. I know you will all join me in extending heartfelt condolences to Jeff, Martin and their families.\u00a0 The club has a proud history and John\u2019s part in that is an important one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
