RYA level 2 Powerboat training courses will run on:

POWERBOAT LEVEL 2

Pre-course experience None. May be preceded by Level 1
Assumed Knowledge None
Course content All you need to know for self-sufficient powerboating at a basic level. Course includes launching, mooring, anchoring and recovery plus all the boat driving skills required for basic competence in a powerboat
Ability after course Self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of craft
Minimum duration 2 day course or shorter assessment for experienced drivers (half to one day).

Island Games

Well done to the St. Catherine’s sailors that competed in the Island Games, in the Laser standard rig Martin Speller finished 12th and Charlie Perkins 16th.    In the Laser radial rig David Carter finished 18th and Laurence Carter finished 10th overall . Commodores Cup – Sunday 5th June

A fantastic days sailing with 24 boats turning out on a wet and very windy morning.  The Commodore and his team set 3 great courses, with plenty capsizes and drama! Inflatable Water Slide The Cup was scooped by Jeff Speller and the best placed junior was won by David Raimbault.  Both the Commodores cup and plate will be presented at the Annual dinner.  The commodores prize, dinner for two at the Moorings, was won by Meriel Ellison.

2011 Jersey Clipper Bursary

2011 JERSEY CLIPPER BURSARY

Club member Neil Singleton, who will soon be circumnavigating the globe aboard Singapore Clipper in the gruelling.  Clipper 11-12 Round-the World Yacht Race, has been awarded the 2011 Jersey Clipper Bursary, worth £600.

Also, thanks to an bouncy castle for sale anonymous donation, the trustees have been able to make an additional award of £150 to 13-year-old sailors Lily Carter and Mary Perkins, currently representing Jersey in the Jeux des Isles in Sicily.
