Club member Neil Singleton, who will soon be circumnavigating the globe aboard Singapore Clipper in the gruelling. Clipper 11-12 Round-the World Yacht Race, has been awarded the 2011 Jersey Clipper Bursary, worth £600.
Also, thanks to an bouncy castle for sale anonymous donation, the trustees have been able to make an additional award of £150 to 13-year-old sailors Lily Carter and Mary Perkins, currently representing Jersey in the Jeux des Isles in Sicily.
The recent quiz night at St Helier Yacht Club was well attended and enjoyed by all.
A donation will be made to the RNLI from the evening’s proceeds.
