The Tony Cavey Training Centre was founded in memory of Tony Cavey who was a former Deputy Harbourmaster in Jersey. The Tony Cavey Trust provided for the training of RYA powerboat instructors and also funding towards the purchase of the St Catherine’s Sailing Club RIB, named TC, which was launched in 2011 by Tony’s wife Trish and his grandson, Daniel.

In 2011 The Tony Cavey Training Centre was founded to promote powerboat training and seamanship. This was followed by first aid and in 2014 the sailing school became an RYA Sailing Centre.
The Chief Instructor for power boating is Dan Washington who is a qualified teacher, father of 2 boys who regularly sail at the club, and who is passionate in the advancement of sailing and power boating for all.
