Up Coming Events

Summer (Evening Series) Begins

Thursday 19th May

So Summer has officially arrived for us sailors, since its the first Summer Evening Series race this Thursday, race start 7 pm. So hope to see you on the start line.

This Sunday – Early start!

Sunday 22nd May 9:00 a.m.

Its normal Sunday sailing this weekend (Farley / Verney 5 & 6) but with a slight twist! The twist being that we need to start SHARP at 9:00 a.m. due to an awkward tide, which will be off the slip by 11:00 a.m  so we’ll need to be efficient!

Look forward to seeing you there EXTRA bright and EXTRA early.

5th CI Masters Open Championship

Friday 24th – Sunday 25th June

An important weekend for the calendar for sailors of a certain age (35 and over to more precise). It’s our turn to host the CI masters championship now in its 5th year, a dedicated committee has been busy with arrangements. It’s a very sociable weekend of sailing when we enjoy competing for various highly coveted trophies with our fellow Channel Islanders. As a sailor of a certain age I highly recommend it!

Here are the Notice of Race  including entry form and  Sailing Instructions

Regattas and Training

Liberation Day Regatta

Monday 9th May

The Liberation regatta takes place this Monday 9th May and includes lunch at the club. BYOB + cakes for afternoon tea always appreciated!

The Vega pursuit race will start at 10:30, with a briefing at 9:45 to explain all, especially useful for those new to pursuit races. After the pursuit race there will be two open handicap races held back to back; first the Beagal then Liberation trophy. Then its in for a well deserved lunch around 2 pm, before the tide is the off the slip!

Did you know….

That the St. Catherine’s Liberation Inflatable Water Slide Day regatta has been held every year since the club started 66 years ago.  The 3 races held on Liberation day are The Vega, The Beagle and The Liberation Day Trophy all with historic significance to the Liberation of the Channel Islands.  First race of the day is the Vega named after the Red Cross Ship SS Vega that made several trips to Jersey with Red Cross parcels, then on 9th May 1945 HMS Beagle arrived at St. Helier harbour and later that day the island was liberated, hence the order of our races!
