If you would like to join the club cruise to Les Ecrehous this Sunday 2nd August (meeting at 10:00 a.m.) please e-mail ian_moisan@hotmail.com to get you name on the list. As RIBS and therefore spaces are quite limited this is for club members only. Please bring your own packed lunch. If you can’t make it this time or end up disappointed due to limited space we are also planning the same cruise on the Sunday 30th August, when a few more RIBS should be available.

Annual Regatta Success
Challenging Conditions
It was a fanstastic annual regatta last weekend. Congratulations to all those that competed, we experienced quite challenging gusty conditions making for some exciting sailing and a range of spectacular capsizes (you know who you are!)
The Sailing and House committees both worked extremely hard to ensure things ran smoothly, with much support from other club members which was really appreciated. On Sunday we were also pleased to welcome into the club those that attended the St Martin’s Church Sea Sunday Service, it was all quite busy for a while. Martin Speller retained the prestigous Aurum Trophy as overall winner of the Regatta, Tom Pollard had a superb weekend finishing as top junior and second overall. It was also really pleasing to see our youngest sailors gaining some race experience as they competed for the Trophy de Paris, well done to Jack Horton who was the winner. If you haven’t seen them already I recommend checking out the photos on our face book page https://www.facebook.com/SCSCJersey

Annual Regatta 10th – 12th July
Our biggest regatta of the year is this coming weekend. The sailing committee has organised the traditional programme of racing, it will be a very full weekend. The notice of race with entry form is here.
The entry form should be returned to Ian Moisan as soon as possible. This also helps establish approximate numbers for catering purposes.
There is something for everyone! …including an ideal opportunity for our youngest sailors at RYA level 3/4 to enjoy sailing in a regatta by competing for the Trophy de Paris on Sunday.
The house committee will be very busy all weekend and need your support with providing the catering e.g. salads, cakes, also helping out on a rota basis in the galley. Please e-mail Katherine Cadin asap at: cadins@me.com with your offer of support, Katherine will then explain what’s needed. Any help will be very much appreciated and is essential if the weekend is to run smoothly.
I’m sure Ian would also appreciate any offers of help either on the water or the slipway with launching and recovery his e-mail is ian_moisan@hotmail.com
Looking forward to a great weekend of sailing, hope to see you there!
Island Games
Huge congratulations to the Jersey Sailing and Windsurfing teams for their great performances and for making us all proud. So many people pulled together to make these games such a huge success. What a superb advert for Jersey, the place and its people. I feel certain that the games will leave a lasting legacy for all the sports involved. For us sailors our laser fleet seems Inflatable Water Slide set to increase given that the vast majority of lasers used have now been sold locally.
Perhaps you saw the JEP’s double page spread of the laser standards in action.
More superb photos were posted on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SCSCJersey/photos/
There will be plenty more action pictures on the club house walls soon as a lasting memory to motivate us all
There was even overhead drone footage providing a new and facinating angle on things https://www.youtube.com/user/c5markloane/videos
And the trak trak system means that its possible to replay exactly what happened in every sailing and windsurfing race.
