The Island Games sailing event is being run in St. Aubin’s Bay with the Lasers based at St. Aubin’s Fort. We are looking for helpers both on and off the water. If you are available to help please email Jeff Speller with an indication of your availability during the week and preference to be on the water or shore based.

St. Catherine’s is on to be part of the largest sailing event in the world in a bid to claim the world record. 44 boats have entered, which means we have exceeded the minimum required, so we have appointed an official adjudicator to oversee our race.
We are the most southerly club in the British Isles to be taking part, Barts Bash has even attracted Inflatable Water Slide Vendée Globe sailor, Phil Sharp, to vist his home island to race alongside the St. Cath’s crew this Sunday. You can still register online, the more the better so do it now. Race starts at 11, breifing at 10.
Don’t forget if you have registered already then please make a donation to the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, which transforms the lives of young people through sailing.
Catherine Moisan and the house committee will be putting on a ploughman’s lunch and profiteroles, all the proceeds of which will be donated to the foundation.
Lunch will be served after sailing from about 1pm, so if you can’t sail then please do join us for lunch and contribute to this great cause.

Iain Percy has said that he will personally pay to fly 2 people out to San Fransisco for a 3 night, 4 day trip including £500 spending money and a trip to look around Artemis Racing and have a sail on an AC45, all in honour of Barts Bash reaching our 5000th signed up sailor!! BOOM!! We got your attention now?? 
The deadline for entries for the UBS Jersey Regatta has been extended to Monday 1 September, the NoR, SI’s & Entry forms can be downloaded from the regatta website.
SCSC will be using all 4 RIBS for the UBS Regatta and as such we need 8 people to drive and crew them. We also need a minimum of 2 people on the slipway to act as beach master. If you can help please email Will Carnegie who is co-ordinating.

We have bouncy castle for sale invited junior sailors from Guernsey and St Malo to take part in this event which is open to regatta and main fleet optimists, as well as toppers and lasers. This year it will take place from St Aubin’s Fort, as this is a test event for the 2015 Jersey Island Games so want to test the facilities and logistics for a big regatta.
