A very happy new year to all our members, looking forward to some great sailing in 2020. Make it one of your new year resolutions!
Calling all Santa’s, Snowmen and Elves with a dinghy in the boat park . . . . what better way to work off all the excesses of Christmas than a fun race around the bay on Boxing Day, starting at 10:00am. Family and friends are welcome to join us in the Clubhouse for hot drinks, cake and mince pies during the morning, see you all there. Happy Christmas!
Notice is hereby given for the 2019 St Catherine’s Sailing Club AGM to be held on Sunday 24th November at 15:00 hrs. Any items for the Agenda should be posted through the club letterbox no less than 8 days before the event. All members are invited to attend.
Due to the high confidence in the local forecast for Force 6-7 winds from the South West tomorrow morning, all racing is cancelled. We will try to reschedule the Condor 1&2 races at a later date.
This Sunday heralds the start of the last race series of the season. The ever popular Condor series is the last chance to get some decent competitive racing in before the winter break.
First race starts at 9:00am due to the spring tide dropping fast.
See you all there!
I know it’s looking a bit windy, but please join us at the Club for the Bart’s Bash sail on Sunday. For the first time in the history of this world wide event, we have the opportunity to raise funds for our own club. The Andrew Simpson Foundation recognises the efforts that individual clubs are putting into promoting sailing. Bart would have loved St Catherine’s as much as we do! So please sign up and raise as much as you can, whether you’re sailing on Sunday or not. Many thanks!
We are all set to run 3 races back to back for the annual Class Championships this Sunday Morning. Trophies and Shields are awarded to the winners of the Laser, RS200, Feva, Topper, Optimist, Oppie, Pico and a Remnants Class. Racing will start promptly at 10:00am, so please sign on and rig early on the slip.
This weekend is promising to provide superb sailing conditions!
The sail around to Gorey will be at 6pm from St Cath’s this Friday, with boat trailer towers required to act as shore support. Please advise Dave and Justin if you have a tow bar available that eve, and for the return journey on Sunday.
If you are not planning to sail yourself over the weekend, please volunteer to help on water or land by going contacting Donald Forbes. All the sailors rely on safety cover and with out them we cannot send sailors out! We need 10 on water and one on Beach Safety each day.
