Sailing Sunday 10th December cancelled

Dear Sailors and Friends,

Current forecast for Sunday is not looking too good, specially in the morning where gusts can largely exceed normal safe parameters for dinghy sailing

Unfortunately this is the second session in a row we are forced to cancel, albeit not unusual for this time of the year is always disappointing when it happens

We are  hopeful to be able to hold the last event of the year  on boxing day 26th December at 11.00h, and are looking forward to seeing you all then in the water and for refreshments and a slice of cake afterwards

Condor Ferries 7&8 tomorrow cancelled & club boats packing + Opi shore class

Owing to continued westerly/southwesterly gales 7-8, sailing at St Catherine’s Sailing Club is cancelled tomorrow.

If you want to meet up to help pack the club boats away for the winter, we will be down there at 10.30 followed by a cup of coffee.

There will be some basic land based training around skills and techniques ( tacking and gybing) for the Opi/Transition fleet.
The memory of the basic routine is important to gain successful transitions and I hope that the session would be for one hour in the club.
Meet at 10.00

Trophies collection for engraving- By 1 October 2017

The season is flying by and it’s time to collect all trophies for engraving and preparation for the annual prize giving on 25th November.

This is also a very busy time for the engravers, so all sailors currently in possesion of perpetual trophies are kindly requested to deliver them  at Carey Olsen’s reception at 47 The Esplanade by 1 October, clean and polished att  James Mulholland.

You can also bring them to the Club this coming weekend, and club officials will take them down to James.

Your support is greatly appreciated for allowing the prize giving dinner to be a success and celebrate this year’s sailors achievements
